These classes create space for the new mothers to meet in a safe supportive environment at this very special time.  A class designed to strengthen and stabilize the postnatal body whilst getting to know your baby and learning to remain relaxed.  The class alternates between yoga for mums and yoga for babies, so you both share your practice together.

Yoga for baby includes:

Passive stretching, rhythmical moving along with singing or chanting.

Yoga for mums:

Improving posture, re-energising and recovering strength and vitality.

There are also lots of integrated yoga practices for mums and babies to do together. The classes are friendly and relaxed so that babies can be fed, changed, dandled, soothed, and sleep whenever they need.

The sessions usually end with a period of deep relaxation and a well-earned cup of tea and a chat if you choose in the cafe in the community centre.

What to bring along...

I can provide some mats by request, if you own a mat please bring it along with you.  I can also provide blankets, however if you would prefer to use your own special baby blanket then please bring that along also.

New Course begins...Wednesday 23rd September.

I started pregnancy yoga with Carly when I was 16 weeks pregnant, and continued until I was 38 weeks-the week before I gave birth! Not only did it give me an hour and a half each week to just relax and connect with my baby, it also mentally prepared me for the challenge that lay ahead.
As well as the breathing techniques that I continue to use in my daily life, the stretches that we learned really helped with late pregnancy lower back ache and showed us how to open our bodies even when it felt like there was not anymore room left to breath!
Going to pregnancy yoga with Carly also helped me to meet a fantastic group of local mums to be. We have all become firm friends since we have given birth, and now we all go to mum and baby yoga together also with Carly!
